DIY Rose Water


With valentines day approaching, and roses being the most popular flower sold every year, We thought it would be useful to share this hack on how to make your own rose water. It can be used for countless things, here are some of the ways we like to use it:


1. Face

Rose water is perfect for calming the skin. After you have washed your face you can use a reusable cotton pad, a spray bottle, or even your hands and apply it all over your face. This can substitute your toner, or even be used to refresh your skin throughout the day. It can help with acne, rosacea and even eczema. It balances your skins pH, fights aging, and so much more.


2. Body

Because it is anti inflammatory, rose water can also be used on your body. You can place a few tablespoons in your bath for smooth and fresh smelling skin. It can also be used to help sooth cuts and burns due to its antiseptic and antibacterial properties.


3. Hair

Rose water is very hydrating and can be added to your shampoo or conditioner. You can rinse your hair with it after you shampoo, or after you condition. You can also spray rose water in your head to refresh those day two, or lets face it, three, curls. Not to mention it will have your hair smelling so good!


4. Room Spray

When you come home from a long day and need something to calm you down, you can use your rose water to spray your pillows to help relieve stress. It smells good and you will wake up feeling so much better. You can also spray it in your rooms to create a fresh scent that will help you calm down.


5. Just Drink It!

This is probably the best way to get all the benefits of the plant, and it will have your body feeling amazing. Roses contain vitamin A, B, C, and E. It helps with digestion, inflammation and your overall vibe. You can add it to your smoothie, tea, or add a few tablespoons to your water. If you do nothing else, do this!


 

Ingredients:

  • Roses (live or dead)

  • Distilled Water

  • Pot

  • Container for storage

Instructions:

  • Remove petals from the stem of the roses (If roses are dead make sure they don't have any mold)

  • Put petals in a pot

  • Use just enough water to cover the petals

  • Boil on medium heat

  • Let boil for 15-20 minutes until the petals have lost their color

  • Strain the water

  • Place in sealed container of your choice


 

Rose Water can be kept up to six months if stored in the refrigerator, seven days room temperature.
